Bus Transfers To and From Ontario Airport

Ontario International Airport (ONT) is located 2 mi/3.2 km east of downtown Ontario, California, USA. When arriving here there are a few options to transfer to Ontario, or other locations in the surrounding area. Transfer options include rental cars, taxis and public buses. Please, make sure to have all your luggage in your possession before proceeding to your choice of transfer.

Omnitrans is the public transportation provider in San Bernardino Valley where Ontario, as well as the airport, is located.

Public Transportation Buses at ONT

Omnitrans Bus Route 61 runs between Pomona Transit Center and Fontana Metrolink with stops along the way that include Ontario city center, Ontario International Airport as well as Ontario Mills. The route in its entirety from beginning to end takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes with the airport located approximately 30 minutes from Pomona and roughly 45 minutes from Fontana.

Ontario Mills is located circa 15 minutes in the direction of Fontana, while Ontario city center is located around 15 minutes towards Pomona. Pomona sits to the west while Fontana sits to the east of the airport, and Ontario.

On weekdays eastbound departures from Pomona begin at 4.35am with the last departure of the day 8.40pm while the westbound departures from Fontana begin at 4.04am with the last departure at 10.12pm.

On Saturdays eastbound departures begin at 5.25am and end at 9.10pm, while westbound departures begin at 5.20am and end at 9.02pm.

On Sundays the first eastbound departure is at 5.39am while the last is at 6.15pm and for the westbound traffic the first departure is at 5.35am with the last at 6.05pm.

Tickets are purchased in exact change, or a pass through the Transit App, on the bus via the farebox provided. The driver cannot give back any change. It is possible to use bills or coins, although not pennies.

A single ride is $2. Passes are available as follows: 1-Day ($6), 7-Day ($20) and 31-Day ($60), and can be purchased online or via the Transit App.

Bus stops can be found outside Terminals 2 and 4.

Omnitrans Bus Route 81 is a route that runs between Chaffey College Transit Center to the north and East Ontario Metrolink Station in Ontario just south of the airport. The Ontario-East Metrolink Station is part of Metrolink’s Riverside line which runs between Riverside and Los Angeles Union Station. Bus Route 81 does not stop at the airport’s terminals, but it does stop at the rental car facility located on Haven Avenue. The rental car facility is connected with the airport via airport shuttles.

Other companies offer their various services of bus or shuttle transfer to and from the airport to varying locations.

Greyhound at Ontario International Airport

There is no Greyhound bus stop at the airport, but there is one located on 1625 E 4th St, Ontario, CA 91764, United States. It is possible to transfer part of the way from the airport to the Greyhound Station via Omnitrans Route 61, but the traveler will have to walk for approximately 1.4 mi/2.2 km from the closest bus stop. It is possible to get a little bit closer by transferring routes, but a walk of around 15 minutes will still be required. It is possible to take a taxi to the Greyhound Station from the airport.

Airport Shuttles at Ontario International Airport

The airport provides shuttles that run every 5-20 minutes 24/7 between Terminals 2 and 4 as well as the Rental Car Facility.
