Flight Departures at Ontario Airport

When it is time for departure from Ontario International Airport in California, USA it is a good idea to first get somewhat acquainted with the airport, how to transfer there and what services that are available to travelers. We have listed some of the information that might be good to know before the flight.

Parking at Ontario International Airport

The airport has several options for open-air surface lots, and no covered parking option, with premium options, economy options and options in close proximity to the terminals as well as options further away from the terminals. Transfers at Ontario International Airport

Rental Cars – Rental car companies that are available at the airport are located in a separate Rental Car Center along Haven Avenue that runs next to airport grounds. Airport shuttles are provided for the transfer between the terminals and the Center so travelers can move conveniently from one location to the other. Rented vehicles are returned to the Center and the traveler can then transfer to the airport terminal of departure using the shuttle system. Buses – There is one scheduled public bus transportation route available for airport transfer, provided by Omnitrans. Bus Route 61 operates between Pomona Transit Center (westbound) and Fontana Metrolink Station (eastbound). It has many stops along the way including the airport terminals as well as Ontario city center and Ontario Mills. Buses run daily with a higher volume of departures and with departures beginning earlier and ending later during the weekdays than during the weekends going both directions. Greyhound – The closest Greyhound station is located in Ontario and there are no direct transfers available from the Greyhound station to the airport, except for taxi.

Taxis – Taxi cabs drop off their customers outside their terminal of departure. More information about taxis to and from Ontario International Airport.

Hotel Shuttles – Hotel shuttles is an airport transfer service provided by some hotels and motels in the Ontario area. These transfers are organized by the accommodation upon the request of the traveler or their representative in advance, often at least 72 hours. Check with your hotel if they offer the service and what charges may apply.

Ride Share Apps – Ride Share app companies are available in the area for transfers to the airport. Transfers are requested through the chosen company’s smartphone application.

Coaches, Limousines and Shuttles – There are various transportation companies in the Ontario area that offer their services of transfer from and to the airport through coaches, limousines and shuttles. These transfers are requested in advance through the chosen company and will depend partly on the location of origin of the transfer.

Trains – There is no train station located on airport grounds, but there are several in the surrounding area. The closest station is the Ontario-East Metrolink Station, the regional Southern California rail system for passenger travels, located 3 mi/5 km from the airport. It is possible to transfer to the airport via Omnitrans Bus Route 81 which stops along Haven Avenue and close to the airport’s Car Rental Facility. The airport provides a complimentary shuttle transfer system to the terminals.

Fontana Metrolink station is the start station on the westbound Route 61 (see Buses) while the Pomona Metrolink station is located a few minutes from the start station on the eastbound Route 61. The airport sits in between the two.

Smoking at Ontario International Airport

It is prohibited to smoke inside the airport’s terminals. Dedicated smoking areas can be found outside.

Wheelchair Assistance at Ontario International Airport

All travelers with special needs are recommended to arrive at the airport at least one hour ahead of the airline’s recommended time of arrival.

The airlines are in charge of wheelchair assistance, and it is free of charge. It airlines uses their own setup and most require that it has been requested at least 48 hours, sometimes more, ahead of the scheduled departure time of the flight.

WiFi at Ontario International Airport

Free unlimited WiFi access for up to 4 hours is offered at the airport via the hotspot name “ONT-WiFi”.

ATMs at Ontario International Airport

ATMs/cash machines can be found in all departures and arrivals areas as well as in the Ground Transportation Center.

Nursing Rooms at Ontario International Airport

Rooms for mothers that want to breastfeed or pump in a private and safe setting may use the Nursing rooms that can be found in both Terminals. The rooms are comfortable with a padded bench, an electrical outlet, a changing area and a small table.

Pet Relief Areas at Ontario International Airport

There are pet relief areas located inside both terminals as well as outside on the far end of each of the terminal buildings.

USO Lounge at Ontario International Airport

The USO Lounge at ONT is located in the Administration building, former Terminal 1, and is connected with the two terminals via the free shuttles provided by the airport. The lounge is open to troops and their families free of charge and it provides libraries of books, magazines, films and television shows as well as a snack canteen, nap room, an outdoor patio, a nursery and a children’s area, computers with internet access, a game room, luggage storage and more.

Water Bottle Filling Stations at Ontario International Airport

Hydration stations, or water bottle filling stations, can be found throughout the terminals.

Lost and Found at Ontario International Airport

If a visitor or traveler lost an item in the public areas of the airport, please contact the Ontario International Airport Lost and Found Office located behind the information desk in Terminal 2. The office is open weekdays 7am-12pm and 1pm -3.30pm.

If luggage is lost on the flight, please contact the airline directly.

Food and Shopping at Ontario International Airport

Both terminals offer several options for food and beverage once the traveler has cleared the security control and is on airside. A few shops can also be found there.
